It is a cyberbullying prevention program for youth aged 12 to 25 years old, schools, and organizations. Digital Respect, under the name Legit Digit, is also a consultancy for institutions and businesses about digital abuse and netiquette.

Objectives

Digital Respect is making a conscious choice to respect others online and on mobile phones. Digital Respect is also using technology respectfully – that is – not for purposes of harming others or spreading rumours.

To encourage youth to respect each other and to put out respectful, positive, kind, encouraging postings, comments, and messages online and on mobile phones.


Statement of Principles


Strategies

Digital Respect workshops may be booked for your individual classes or for small and large groups. A program will also be available to be included in school curricula. Please contact the Digital Respect coordinator for more information.

The Digital Respect program is available for:

* Teachers
* Parents
* Youth
* Children
* School administration
* Youth organizations

The program will teach:

* The basics of cyberbullying
* How to prevent cyberbullying
* Cyber-citizenship through digital respect
* A tool-kit with exercises and activities
* Multimedia content and films

You may pick from a series of 10 workshop themes that take about 1 hour (but can also be adjusted to fit 50 minute and 1.25 hour school periods). These themes are all relevant to digital dramas and their prevention.
